Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti(born November 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now One Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to be awarded a perfect score of 10 points in an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi was an Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became the coach for Comaneci and first became aware of Comaneci aged six. The year 1969 was the first time she took part in the Romanian Junior Games and placed 13th. She won in 1970. In 1972, during an event for communist-controlled countries' junior athletes before the Olympics she won three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974, she became the overall junior champion. Her first senior competition in 1975, she beat Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. The five-time European champion who won four gold medals and one silver. The first female to complete a reverse double salo with the bar with a parallel surface when she won the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, she began performing in travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol was a part of the entertainment industry as a teenager. The path she took to success began by joining her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling spectacle of entertainment. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
